| What's the sate of NonsexualSocial Nudity in America Now?
The State of NonsexualSocial Nudity - Recently, I've been perusing the World Wide Web. I desired to get a feel concerning how society in general feels towards non-sexual nudity and the nudist society in general. While seemingly you can find many advocates for non sexual social nudity (given it is done in a respectable manner and proper place), it appears like there are twice as many that condemn the thought. The search results also contained quite a number of posts by people that cope with city, state and other government officials together with a bunch of dating sites. I began to question, what's created this type of widespread interest in sexual nudity? Could it have been our breeding, social standards or perhaps it is part of our genetic make-up? Why could it be that simple nudity appears to continually be considered indecent and fundamentally sexual in our society today?
Definitely, I'm not the only one who has found this. But as I continued to study, I found that, at least here in America, we now have been "brainwashed to feel, believe and market the natural state of undress as a bad / lewd thing. Historically we did not have clothes - aside from the furs worn to protect us from the elements. Until Asia devised loom technology over six thousand years ago, we didn't even understand what clothing were. The early European settlers "taught" us that nudity was socially unacceptable in the Americas. The fact that the Natives had lived this way for a millennia, and sometimes even more, did not seem to change lives. If anything, it might have done harm as they were perceived to be primitive people.
In all honesty, our heritage is that of nudity. The Greeks historically lived naked and espoused social nudity for centuries - using minimalist garments as an indication of social status. They also portrayed the bare body in arty paintings, sculptures and participated in many occasions (for example wrestling and mock conflicts) without a stitch of cloth. They were the forefathers that devised the Olympic Games - subsequently performed them in the nude. Due to lack of evidence to the contrary, the religions of the world thousands of years ago started the repression of nudity. Sadly, it has continued to today.
"Approve or Reject" by Yu Chang
Many questions have now been running through my head at the time of late. I keep wondering why society frowns on those who promote total body approval. Another question that goes hand in hand would be why we let it to continue? Is it not our constitutional right to state ourselves the way we desire? How could nudity be considered sexual when naturists and naturist communities present clear evidence to the contrary? Are individuals that ashamed of their bodies they want make up reasons to conceal them? Why are we the only few that can fathom how favorable a nude society can be, not only health-wise but also socially and economically? Why am I not unclothed right now? And finally (for now), what can we do to alter the societal perspective and by doing so, create and grow the basic and fundamental understanding and approval of the nude human body?
Sadly, it seems like we as a society, are set in "our" manners and unless something or someone moves to radically alter that way of thinking, we will simply continue to make minuscule steps toward an general approval of nonsexual societal nudity. With the laws slowly transforming in some places for the better and in others for the worse, it appears like we might be treading water. But for those of us living in locations such as Kansas City, Denver, Minneapolis as well as other regions of the Midwest, I worry we may never experience such freedoms. At least not in my lifetime, which makes me wonder if things would be different if we would sink in more money and time to encourage and bring more tourism from other countries. Apparently, http://nudiststeen.com with the most tourism, for example Croatia, also have the lesser number of restraints put on naturists.
While places including Kansas City / Missouri and Kansas don't necessarily condemn naturists or our way of life, they do have laws preventing public nudity. Hence, the belief is that some residents here do not always like the idea of such. For instance, many residents are attempting to have a bronze statue called "accept or reject" created by sculptor Yu Chang in Overland Park arboretum removed. The reason they give is that it's obscene because it depicts a girl baring her breasts and only partially clothed while shooting a photo of herself (mimicking the new naked selfies phenomena). Happily, a grand jury determined the statue is not obscene and is considered artwork. What http://beach-photos.com closed minded society we live in!
It shames me to say the American society which promises to be accepting of anyone and everyone is, in reality, anything but. Consequently, the embarrassed fight against what we as naturists try to conquer. Who is to say a girl just isn't attractive only because she is larger in relation to the malnourished woman on a billboard? Who determined that a man isn't amazing because he has body hair and a beer gut and not the toned, hairless body of the model on TV? Why could it be that most people are blind to the true beauty of a person?
When American society begins to see the true beauty of a person, perhaps they'll see exactly the same things we do and accept the natural beauty that is us. Until then, I imagine we will continue to see our respective nudist allocated areas, live in the buff behind closed doors and hope that we are going to someday come together as a whole and turn the shame that has been inflicted on us so many years past.
